Hog Point Pedestrian Bridge

The project involved the installation of a bridge and the placement of shoreline improvements to greatly reducing tidal flow between Hog Point Inlet and the Chesapeake Bay at the Pax River Naval Air Station, Charles County. Additional project components included installation of an osprey nest next to bridge and improved access to additional fishing areas on Hog Point for base personnel and civilian visitors. The bridge has become tremendously popular with local fisherman and has facilitated enjoyment of the site’s unique natural character. The project was completed on November 11, 2005.
