Indian Head Fish Passage

Jan 8, 2007 - 7:26:22 PM

This project greatly improved habitat quality for anadromous fish by enabling upstream movement during periods of high water volume for reasons such as protection and shelter at the Indian Head Naval Surface Warfare Center, Charles County.  An existing, concrete culvert obstructed upstream movement.  Once the fish have outgrown their existing habitat the fish will move downstream to existing larger areas of water.  The project was completed on October 1, 2004.
