Indian Head Nature Overlook

Working closely with Indian Head Naval Surface Warfare Center and the Charles Soil Conservation District, Southern Maryland RC&D facilitated the construction of a pedestrian wildlife overlook platform at the Indian Head installation, Charles County. In addition to creating an easily accessible point from which to enjoy the site’s unique natural character the overlook is also used by base naturalists to monitor base bald eagle populations. Southern Maryland RC&D provided contract administration services to Naval District Washington to facilitate this wildlife management project. The project was completed on November 1, 2004.
