Berrywood Community Marina Retrofit

Southern Maryland RC&D is providing assistance with project development, partnership building, preparation of grant applications, managing grant resources and oversight to project implementation for an extensive stormwater management retrofit of a community marina. Project components include replacement of asphalt with pervious surfaces, replacement of bulkhead/hardened shoreline with living shoreline without reducing existing number of boat slips, establishment of bioretention structures and step pools to control stormwater, restoration of adjacent creek for yellow perch habitat and to stimulate community education and participation. Southern Maryland RC&D has committed $12,500 to facilitate site designs and will be providing an additional $28,000 in materials.
