Oxbow Scenic Overlook

Creating a scenic overlook with trail improvements at the Oxbow Nature Preserve will provide low-impact access to an important natural area and wetland adjacent to the Russett Community. The overlook will facilitate site enjoyment by a much wider audience of community members promoting activities such as avitourism and outdoor education. The overlook is being designed by the Anne Arundel Soil Conservation District.  Southern Maryland RC&D is providing technical assistance and grant preparation and management services. 

The Oxbow Nature Preserve trail, leading away from the Community of Russett and to the wetland area inside the preserve.

The existing observation area. This platform will be replaced with a scenic overlook that will greatly increase access for all members of the community.
