Stormwater Retrofit – Naval Research Laboratories, Chesapeake Bay Detachment

This project addresses much needed stormwater management retrofits at the Chesapeake Bay Detachment Naval Research Laboratory, Chesapeake Beach. Working closely with Calvert SCD and Geo-Marine, Inc., Southern Maryland RC&D is coordinating construction activities to repair a stream channel and retrofit stormwater management issues at the base. Additional project components include repairs to a retaining wall at a historic grave site and security fence maintenance. Construction is expected to begin in January 2007.

Compromised fence line
This fence line was compromised by misdirected stormwater.

Road erosion
The road has been severely undercut by erosion and can no longer be accessed.
