Millbrook Farm Grist Mill Designated 2010 Endangered Maryland Site

Mar 19, 2010 - 11:37:24 AM

The Millbrook Farm Grist Mill is the last surviving water-powered grist mill in Charles County.  The mill was recently featured in the March/April issue of Maryland Life magazine as one of Preservation Maryland's 2010 Endangered Maryland sites. Owned by the Silbaugh family, it is located in Nanjemoy, MD very near the town's original post office and general store. Southern Maryland RC&D is currently working with the Silbaughs to explore restoration opportunities and obtain the necessary funds.  Thanks to Cathy Hardy Thompson, Charles County Planning & Growth Management, for her help with the nomination.
