Southern MD RC&D Week - Recap

Southern MD RC&D recently celebrated National RC&D week by having a coloring and poster contest for school aged children. The Board has received over 700 coloring contest entries and a few posters. The coloring sheets and posters will be judged, and winners will be chosen and notified by October 30^th. The board also set up a display board at the North Beach Farmers Market in Calvert County to showcase RC&D projects. At the market, Southern Maryland RC&D was presented with proclamations from Commissioner Barbara Stinnett and Dick Myers, Special Assistant to Senator Barbara Mikulski. The Board also received proclamations from Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley, Senator Ben Cardin, Anne Arundel County Executive John Leopold, Charles County Commissioners and St. Mary’s County Commissioners.
