Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River, St. Mary’s County, and Southern Maryland Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) were selected as one of six innovative partnerships to be showcased at the Association of Defense Communities (ADC) Installation Innovation Forum 2017 – a national forum held in San Antonio, Texas in February.

Board of Public Works Approves Rural Legacy Program Grants - Oct 24, 2016 - 12:32:34 PM
The Board of Public Works unanimously adopted a Maryland Department of Natural Resources recommendation today to approve 15 Rural Legacy Program grants, totaling $17,663,385, to permanently preserve approximately 4,615 acres of working farms, forests and open space across the state.

In 2015, Southern Maryland RC&D entered into a two year Grant Agreement with Maryland Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) to hire employees for five positions to be placed in various Soil Conservation District offices in Maryland.
